Website design for Long Island businesses
Custom websites for companies across Nassau County, Suffolk County and beyond, designed to look sharp, load fast and make it easy for customers to get in touch.
Long Island, New York
Smashbeat Media is an independent creative and digital studio based on Long Island. Since 2013 we have designed and built more than 70 websites, from focused service-business sites to larger builds with custom functionality.
Most Long Island businesses don’t need a website that wins design awards in a vacuum. They need one that makes the phone ring. That means a clear message, an obvious next step on every page, and a site that holds up on a phone in a parking lot as well as on a desktop in an office.
You work directly with founder Andrew Patti, who runs every client relationship personally. The person you brief is the person who builds it.
What a Long Island business website actually needs to do
Customers here compare options quickly. Whether they found you through a search, a referral or a truck on the Expressway, the website is usually where they decide whether to call. It has a few seconds to answer the basics.
- Say what you do and where
- A clear headline, the services you offer and the parts of Long Island you serve, visible without scrolling.
- Make contact effortless
- Tap-to-call on mobile, short forms that actually reach your inbox, and a contact option on every page.
- Build trust fast
- Real photos of your work and team, your licensing or credentials where relevant, and reviews you have permission to use.
- Load quickly on a phone
- Most local searches happen on mobile. A slow site loses people before they see anything.
- Be easy for you to update
- New services, seasonal hours and project photos should not require a developer every time.
Local search built in, not bolted on
A new website is the best moment to get your local search foundations right, and the most expensive moment to get them wrong. We plan the site structure around how people actually search for your services, with clear service pages and service-area content that reflects where you really work.
Every build includes the technical groundwork: clean page titles and descriptions, structured data for your business details, a fast mobile experience, and consistent name, address and phone information that lines up with your Google Business Profile. If you are replacing an existing site, we map your old URLs to the new ones so the pages already bringing in traffic keep doing it.
That foundation is not the same as an ongoing SEO campaign, and we will not pretend it is. But it means the site is ready if you decide to invest in local SEO later.
Local when it helps, remote when it’s easier
Being based on Long Island means we understand the market you are selling into: the difference between a Nassau County customer and a Suffolk County one, the pull of New York City, and the seasonal swings that hit plenty of local businesses.
In practice, most projects run smoothly over video calls, email and shared previews, which keeps things moving without anyone losing half a day to traffic. When a project benefits from sitting down together, such as a kickoff with several stakeholders or a photo walkthrough of your space, we can talk about meeting in person.
How a website project works
Every project is scoped to what your business needs, so timelines depend on size, content and how quickly decisions get made. The shape of the process stays consistent.
- Discovery
- What the site needs to do, who it is for, what is working on your current site and what is not.
- Structure and content
- A page plan and a clear list of what content is needed, and who is providing it.
- Design
- Custom design built around your brand, reviewed on both desktop and mobile.
- Build and test
- Development on WordPress or a modern framework, depending on how you will manage the site, then testing across devices and forms.
- Launch and after
- Redirects, analytics and search setup at launch, with ongoing maintenance available so the site stays healthy.
Where we work
From Nassau to nationwide
Nassau County
For Nassau businesses competing in dense, crowded markets, a site that clearly separates you from the shop down the road matters as much as the design itself.
Suffolk County
Suffolk businesses often cover large service areas, so we structure sites to show exactly where you work without padding them with thin town-by-town pages.
New York City
For businesses selling into the five boroughs, the site has to hold its own against city competitors that set a high bar for polish and speed.
Tri-State & beyond
We build websites for clients across New York State, New Jersey, Connecticut and nationwide, with the same process whether we are ten minutes or ten states away.
FAQ
Questions, answered
Do you only work with Long Island businesses?
No. We are based on Long Island and work with a lot of local businesses, but we also build websites for clients in New York City, across the Tri-State Area and nationwide.
Can we meet in person?
Most projects run over video calls and email, which keeps things efficient for everyone. If your project would benefit from an in-person meeting, let us know and we can talk about it.
How much does a website cost?
It depends on the number of page types, the design approach, the content you need help with and any custom functionality. Starting prices are listed on our website design page, and we give a clear quote once we understand the scope.
Will my new website show up in local search?
Every site we build includes the technical foundations for local search: clean structure, fast mobile performance, structured data and consistent business details. Nobody can honestly guarantee rankings. Ongoing local SEO is available as a separate service if you want to actively grow your visibility.
Can I update the website myself?
Yes. We build sites so your team can handle everyday edits like text, photos and new pages, and we can walk you through how it all works before launch.
